Coffee lovers and enthusiasts, assemble!

Tomorrow, September 20, the very first Philippine National Barista Assembly will take place. Happening at the SMX Convention Center Aura in Taguig, the assembly aims to bring the barista community together and to promote the coffee economy here in the country. So of course, expect a lot of coffee to be brewing!

Check out more details for the event on the poster below.

Baristas’ Quest

As coffee lovers ourselves, we can just imagine the amazing aroma that would drift through the air tomorrow. Ugh, so heavenly!

Making a scene

Hosting the Philippine National Barista Assembly is Baristas’ Quest – a team of coffee enthusiasts and content creators – in partnership with the Department of Tourism.

Headed by local cafe owner and 2019 Philippine National Barista Champion Michael Harris Conlin, Baristas’ Quest is also a campaign to unite Filipino Baristas.

Other than that, the advocacy of the group is to promote the local coffee scene. Headed by the vision of a beautiful coffee future, President and CEO of Baristas’ Quest says:

“I realized that at the core of my expertise is a calling, a dream of making local coffee farming more sustainable. From then on, I made sure that all my endeavors are done…

for the love of coffee & advancing its industry.”

— Mr. Michael Harris Conlin

There really is a lot of potential for the industry to grow even further here in the country, and we believe that Baristas’ Quest could bring that vision to life. It is really nice if we could enjoy something more local and less… Tim Hortons, ya know?

Assemble for coffee

Tomorrow, we expect that there would be a lot of coffee, competition, and camaraderie. Professionals and amateurs alike would be given the chance to showcase their skills in the art of coffee. Of course, there would be experts from the industry to share their own personal tricks and tips about the craft too.

Although, take note that the assembly is not just for people involved or working in the coffee industry. It is open to everyone and the registration is for FREE. So you, avid coffee drinkers, are all welcome!

They already closed the link for the pre-registration, but you could still go to the SMX Convention Center Aura for the event tomorrow.
