For those of you scouting a free gig to attend this weekend aside from Fete De La Musique, Globe Live Street offers a series of shows from 7 to 10 PM, featuring local artists at the Globe Iconic Store, Bonifacio High Street Amphitheater in Taguig City. It started last weekend, June 16, and will last up to July 7.

The weekend of June 16-17 started with the unplugged show, with performances from Franco, Truefaith, Johnoy Danao, Quest, Leanne & Naara, and Rouge. Don’t fret if you weren’t able to watch because there’s still a lot of artists coming in the next weekends.

This weekend, you can catch a retro theme, featuring Arpie & The Multivitamins and Rage Band on June 22, and Yellow Lane and Mulatto on June 23. Expect songs from the 70s, 80s and 90s for a throwback feels.

Meanwhile, you can celebrate the mid-year end with lounge music from Brass Munkeys, Brass Pas Pas Pas Pas + Kat Agarrado, and Skarlet Swing Machine on June 29. Conscious & The Goodness, Trifecta, and Nicole Asencio will perform on June 30.

For the weekend show finale, Ben&Ben, Autotelic, and Mayonnaise will perform on July 6, while Keiko Necesario, Bullet Dumas, and Reese Lansangan are scheduled on July 7.

It’s okay if you don’t know some of the artists yet — take this chance as an opportunity to discover new artists, especially if you don’t have any plans for the weekend. Plus, it’s all free! What more can you ask for? Go with your friends to support and embrace local music.

There are so many artists waiting to be discovered. And most of the time, their music is more interesting than the mainstream songs we know. Stalk their social media accounts if you must so you can familiarize yourself with their music. Listen to their tracks on youtube, it would be cool to sing along during the show!
