The Rise of Showtek
Formed by Wouter and Sjoerd Janssen, the Dutch brothers started their dance music careers with techno music in 2001. They shifted to hardstyle two years later while working on their solo music; Wouter produced hard trance under the moniker of Walt while Sjoerd stayed on hardstyle as Duro. Their 2007 debut album “Today Is Tomorrow” received praise from critics and placed at 68 on the Dutch music charts. The brothers followed it up with “Analogue Players in a Digital World”, unveiling the album at the Amsterdam Dance Events in the Netherlands. They began a series of collaborations in 2012 entitled “Crazy Collabs”, signing up producers from other genres in dance music for tracks. The brothers kicked off the project with the help of fellow Dutch DJ/producer Tiësto on the track “Hell Yeah!”. Hardwell added to the star-studded lineup with “How We Do” the same year.
Plus63 Music and Arts Festival
