As you may have seen from our stories of music, literature, the arts, and much recently, dance, one could argue that anybody with Filipino blood has at least one entertainment talent practically embedded in their DNA. From the stage, the studio, or the outdoors, the Filipino talent will always have something to bring to the table. And when it comes to the performing arts, these lands have never fallen short with what they can offer.

Recently, we helped our friends from UPeepz spread the word about their fundraising dance concert, Bangon. (Update: UPeepz will officially compete in Phoenix, USA)

Today, I want to introduce to you another group of world-class talents that seek your support.

The Alliance

The Alliance PH is a semi-professional dance team that has been bagging awards at prestigious dance competitions (including HHI Philippines and WOD Philippines) since their formation in 2013. For 4 years, The Alliance has worked to become one of the official delegates of the country to the annual World Hip Hop Dance Championships, (they have represented the PH in the Varsity division since 2014) – a competition that is almost synonymous to the “Olympics of Hip Hop Dance”.

Last year, The Alliance bagged Bronze at the 2016 World Hip Hop Dance Championship: Varsity Division. Just last May, they, once again, proved why they are one of the most sought-after dance teams in the country with their 2 Gold medal wins in the Adult and Megacrew Divisions of the 2016 Philippine Hip Hop Dance Championship National Finals by Hip Hop International Philippines, qualifying them to compete at the nearing 2017 World Hip Hop Dance Championship in Phoenix, Arizona this August.

“We change, We adapt, and We overcome.”

The Alliance

While it is the 4th time the dance team will step foot on the WHHDC stage, it is no less than a privilege for them to share the experience once again with their fellow Philippine representatives and other competing dance crews from all over the world. But, as any journey worth-taking, the road to the gold is not easy.

In order to support Alliance’s now-bigger HHI competing team with their expenses, a fundraising dance concert will be held on the 21st of July 2017, Friday, at the Henry Lee Irwin Theater in Ateneo de Manila University, with which the team humbly invites you all to become a part of this exciting journey.

Apart from the fundraiser, this event also aims to gather support from all kinds of Filipino dance enthusiasts rooting for all representatives of the Philippines for this year!

“Events such as this never fail to gather the Philippine dance community and promote oneness in inspiring enthusiasts and believers of the culture and arts, as well as uplifting the impact of Filipino talent in the international scene.”
