What’s the Deal with Lady Gaga and Adam Driver’s Trending Photo?

What is Lady Gaga and Adam Driver's House of Gucci Photo About

Lady Gaga, covered in gold jewelry, sporting a white fur hat and a black turtleneck. Beside her is Adam Driver, donning black-rimmed spectacles, a pair of white pants, and a cable-knit sweater of the same color. If the description sounds familiar, then you might have seen the voguish photo of the two Hollywood celebrities in a winter setting making rounds on the internet. And you might have also wondered what is going on.

A Gaga-Driver film underway!

Well, it means it’s about time we move on from ‘A Star is Born’ and prepare ourselves for another Gaga’s acting spectacle. The said photo is a behind-the-scenes look at her and Driver’s forthcoming new film– a Ridley Scott-directed biopic called, “House of Gucci.”

Based on the book The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed by Sara Gay Forden, “House of Gucci” follows the tragic story of the famous family of Patrizia Reggiani, an Italian socialite, and Maurizio Gucci, once considered a fashion boss as the heir of the prestigious Gucci fashion house.

On the 27th of March 1995, years after the couple’s divorce, the 46-year-old Maurizio was shot to death outside his office in Milan, and it was his ex-wife Reggiani, who would be later on found out as the one who orchestrated the assassination. Called by the press as “Black Widow,” she was sentenced to 29-year imprisonment and was only set free in 2014.

Needless to say, it’s Gaga who’ll be portraying Reggiani, while Driver will be playing the late Gucci. Revealed last year, the cast also includes AL Pacino, Jared Leto, and Jeremy Irons, among many others. Multiple reports claim that the film has begun production early this year and is slated to release on November 26.

This team-up is something none of us thought we needed, but it’s not like there are actors more fit for the roles. I mean, observe the photo above, and name a duo that would better portray these ill-fated characters. Fascinating!
