COWABUNGGA!

The sewer-surfing, bad-guy-chasing, weapon-wielding, pizza-eating turtle foursome is making a comeback to the big screen. This upcoming installment-bound to be the 7th of the franchise-is revealed to have some pretty awesome figures attached to its production.

First up, Seth Rogen’s production company, Point Grey Pictures is reported to team up with Nickelodeon and Paramount Pictures to bring us this insanely awesome new take on the turtle bros’ adventure.

The film’s main producers aside from Seth Rogen are renowned comedy writer Evan Goldberg and veteran comedy producer James Weaver. Jeff Rowe whose best work, Gravity Falls, has gained remarkable global recognition steps in as director. Coming in as the writer we’ve got Brendan O’Brien who’d previously written all movies in the Neighbours franchise starring Seth Rogen, as well as The House and Mike and  Dave Need Wedding Dates.

Brian Robbins, President of Kids & Family for ViacomCBSBrian Robbins, President of Kids & Family for ViacomCBS, said in an interview with Gamespot, “Adding Seth, Evan and James’ genius to the humor and action that’s already an integral part of TMNT is going to make this a next-level reinvention of the property.” He says, “I’m looking forward to see(ing) what they do, and I know that Ramsey Naito and her team are excited to take the Nick Animation Studio into another great direction with their first-ever CG-animated theatrical.”

As of writing, no release date, teaser, or sneak peeks, have been released yet, but seeing as 2020 marks the 30th anniversary of the first time our turtle boys appeared on-screen, the time could not have been more opportune for this announcement that has definitely made 2020 a whole lot lighter!
