The one and only drama queen, Sharpay Evans, from High School Musical, has been making a scene on Twitter. Find out here why!
Okay, so apparently, Sharpay Evans started trending on the Internet out of the blue. It may be because of a Twitter user who took it to the social media platform on September, 13 (Friday) to reminisce an old video of Sharpay and Ryan Evans performing ‘What I’ve Been Looking For’, which fans loved and received thousands of retweets!

If you haven’t known by now, Sharpay Evans is a beloved antagonist from ‘High School Musical’, one of the most acknowledged Disney films from our childhood. Why? Well, despite her bratty attitude, she’s an independent woman who’s passionate in her musical craft and is ready to do anything to achieve her goals.
So this one hell of a flashback Friday caused not only extreme nostalgia but also prompted some fans to defend the misunderstood villain. Don’t believe us? Here are some avid Twitter users who brought Sharpay to a new light:
Sharpay wasn’t the villain she put her blood sweat and tears into theater and didn’t want someone who wasn’t all about it to take her crown especially two people who wasn’t even reliable to show up pic.twitter.com/QGqGnt2Uzu

all sharpay evans wanted to do was sing and be a performer. her deserved lead role was snatched by a basketball player and a girl with no previous experience. sharpay and ryan were BORN to sing and were painted as the villains for following their dreams in this essay i will

And Sharpay Evans (Ashley Tisdale) herself even joined in the fun to support everyone who’s boarding the Sharpay Train!
Sharpay was chasing her dream, Troy and Gabriella were chasing each other 😏 https://t.co/9tTVhSZq66

Sorry, Sharpay!
While one Twitter user even took the time to create a PowerPoint presentation titled, “Sharpay Evans was Bopped from the Top”.
i really made a whole powerpoint and presented it in front of my freshman college english class on why sharpay was NOT the antagonist of the high school musical trilogies and i think that is the most performing arts major thing i could possibly do pic.twitter.com/peepYaIOSF

So basically, Sharpay Evans, who we all used to hate because of her relentless plot to breakup Troy and Gabriella, was brought to justice. In this tweet, it says that even though Sharpay is a selfish brat who only acts for her personal agenda, (1) she still shared the spotlight with her classmates during the senior musical, (2) she truly loved Troy and wanted only the best for him and even went far as to offer him a college scholarship and (3) she knows she’s talented but still puts effort to her work.
Okay, so seriously guys, we never thought of Sharpay this way until now. Before we all wanted to be Gabriella, who just wants to get into Harvard and hang around with Troy on the side. But after reading all of these, we’re joining the all-things-fabulous club. Differences aside, we can’t help but feel sentimental after watching the throwback video. ‘High School Musical’ is still a timeless movie for us! ’90’s kids where you all at? Do you feel us?!
What do you think of Sharpay Evans trending on Twitter? Does she deserve the spotlight? Did you also see her in a new light after reading this? We’d love to hear from you! So share with us your thoughts in the comments down below! Or hit us up on our Facebook or Twitter @UDoUPh.
