Another controversy is budding as fans of Park Seo Joon rant about the messy Bench promo event!
If you have heard about the chaotic Shopee Philippines event for Blackpink, you would know that a lot of the Korean girl group’s fans were allegedly scammed. It was a big mess, causing other people to even boycott Shopee. Yesterday, a similar thing happened to Korean actor Park Seo Joon‘s fans regarding Bench. Uh oh.
On September 13, Bench released the mechanics for the Park Seo Joon Fun Meet at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on September 29. The promo duration is from September 18 and will end on September 20. However, yesterday a lot of disappointed fans took to social media to express their disappointment on the execution of the promo event.
Limited promo tickets + long waiting hours
According to fans who have told stories from yesterday’s promo kick-off, Bench wasn’t able to pull it off well. They waited in line for hours, only to find out that the tickets were already sold out.
Mahal ko si PSJ but sadly i can’t utter the same words for @benchtm .. such a dissapointment. 😠😤#ParkSeoJoonForBENCH should have been for fans.. fan meet nga diba?? We’re willing to spend 10K for a single seat.. we even filed our VLs, some even spent the whole night..

Shame on you, @benchtm 👎 Alam nyo na sobrang daming pumila (hindi nyo nga ma-handle ng ayos) mula kagabi, dapat maaga nyo sinabi na 100 VIP & 166(?) Patron A tickets lang for fans ang ilalabas nyo. Vloggers/celebs lang ata ang pupuno sa MOA arena! Leche! #ParkSeoJoonForBENCH

No remorse no apology at all! You made us line up then stop entry at 1130 am?! U should have announced days before that very few vip/patron a tix will be sold coz u reserved all of them already. Epic faildisaster. @benchtm @BCbench @DtiPhilippines @BN_SJ2013 #ParkSeoJoonForBENCH pic.twitter.com/MQYrvX2k7x

Apparently, Bench wasn’t able to announce earlier that there were only a limited number of tickets. So, fans speculate that Bench will offer other ‘reserved’ seats to celebrities or influencers, because the tickets given to fans are not collectively enough considering the size of the venue.
Many agree that the event was overall disorganized, especially with how tickets were distributed to the different branches. One Twitter user said that there were only 30 tickets in Bench Bacolod, and there were none in Iloilo.
However, it doesn’t stop there.
Special treatment
Apparently, some also made reservations for store items and tickets even before the promo date and time window. So unfair, Bench.
@benchtm PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS! Apparently the rumors are true, reservations were made. See that? Complete with Full Name and Ticket of choice. Wow. #ParkSeoJoonForBENCH #ParkSeoJoonForBENCH pic.twitter.com/4t4Vb9gl9U

your mechanics are ridiculous + there’s an unfair reservation shit going on, and no one’s overseeing this?? you should withdraw all those reservations if you’re still willing to be decent#ParkSeoJunForBENCH #ParkSeoJoonForBENCH #박서준 @BCbench

This is so messy. Fans who just want the chance to meet their idol do not deserve the kind of treatment they were given. There also shouldn’t be any special reservations, since the mechanics are supposedly there to keep things in place.
The promo still runs until September 20, so we hope Bench improves how they manage their event and be able to execute their own instructions properly.
