How does it work?

The website gets updated every minute. Through the process of web scraping, it extracts information from the World Health Organization, the Centers for Disease Control, and other trustworthy local government sites that update numbers on the pandemic.

Started in late December last year, it is now being used as a reliable source for people seeking the latest information on the pandemic and has been visited by tens of millions of people from all over the world.

It also provides an interactive live map containing information on the disease and the number of confirmed cases and deaths per province.

The Coronavirus Dashboard was developed by a 17-year-old student in Seattle, Washington named Avi Schiffmann. Started in late December last year, the website is now being used as the world’s go-to source for the latest information on the pandemic and has been visited by tens of millions of people from all over the earth.
