Internet’s latest boyfriend, Keanu Reeves, has been blowing the social media space. But what’s to like about the John Wick actor, anyway?

For more than 3 decades, Keanu Reeves delighted everyone not only for his acting but also for being himself. And when I say everyone, I mean everyone.

“I don’t have anyone in my life, but if it does occur, I would respect and love the other person. Hopefully, it’ll happen for me.”

In the past few days, every social media platform was bombarded by Keanu Reeves stories. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, you name it. Every single one of them depicting that Keanu Reeves as the nicest man in the world. And make no mistake to accept it. Because Keanu, indeed is the nicest man in the world. After he revealed that he is “a lonely man”, people began sending the love he deserves.

But what do we really know about Keanu Reeves anyway? Because despite the social media uproar he causes, he still remains a mystery we wish to unravel.

Keanu Reeves

The 54-year old Canadian actor and musician gained fame for starring in blockbuster films. Born in Beirut, unknown to some people, he’s of Chinese-Hawaiian descent as well. He grew up learning around Chinese culture, tradition, and cuisine but this information was barely discussed in his interviews.

Aside from his recent success with the John Wick franchise, he also appeared in several action thriller films. This includes Point Break (1991), Speed (1994) and science fiction series, The Matrix (1999 – 2003). With that being said, he also played a role in The Devil’s Advocate (1997) and in Constantine (2005).

Just recently, he appeared as himself, Keanu Reeves in the Netflix Original romantic comedy, “Always Be My Maybe”. Much to everyone’s surprise, he portrayed himself as a theatrical, self-serious and spiritual Keanu Reeves. Indeed, his acting showed how versatile he is, from action to comedy to drama. You name it. He was cast in the film for his Asian descent, according to lead actress and standup comedian Ali Wong. But that’s not it, it definitely stirred everyone’s mind knowing that Keanu Reeves is a man of mystery.

But here’s what we know…

Even he’s one of the critically acclaimed A-list Hollywood stars, there’s a lot of things Keanu keeps in check. His life story isn’t as grand as we thought. His father left their family after being prisoned for drug dealing. Because of that, his mother remarried several times and moved around quite often. Not the best childhood, right?

But just like normal people he has his hobbies too. He used to play hockey and is a motorcycle enthusiast. But during the late nineties, he experienced something tragic with his girlfriend, Jennifer Syme. His girlfriend gave birth to baby. Unfortunately, it was stillborn. After two years, he lost Syme in a car accident. His love life, or lack thereof, remained behind closed doors ever since.

A gentleman

But even though his cladded with mystery, Keanu proves to be more than just an A-List Hollywood celebrity. After the interview, where he stated he was lonely, people began blowing up the internet of how much they’d want not a Keanu Reeves in their lives. But “the” Keanu Reeves himself. Amidst dozens of sexual harassment controversies in showbiz, people proved and continues to prove that Keanu is the rose among the thorns.

People began uploading pictures with him, both with celebrities and fans. It showed how Keanu would pose with them, keeping his hands to himself. That might sound pretentious and absurd but for women, it means a lot to them. Even if we do want Keanu Reeves to hit us up (in our dreams), we’d literally melt with his gentlemanliness. And that speaks for his treatment towards women.

Grounded and humble

But that’s not all! Keanu is one of the most humble and grounded actors. Both in his time and up until now. According to reports, he approached everyone on movie sets and treated them like an old friend. Especially the people behind movies like special effects team.

A lot of stories about his philanthropy, kindness, and generousness kept popping out of nowhere. But one thing that captured our eyes was his secret donation to charity and production set guys in The Matrix. And even he’s one of the biggest Hollywood stars, people on testified how nice, humble and generous he is. No bad “reviews” about him, apparently.

Man of culture

Okay, so you’re probably wondering how we can call Keanu Reeves a man of culture. He definitely owned 2019. He’s not just a blockbuster movie actor but also a man of culture ready to take on the world. Despite his age, dashing at 54 years, he seems to have an affinity to pop culture. We all know how big he was before and even up until now.

But seeing him accept such projects outside the image we’ve seen him play countless times, he only leaves us speechless and amazed. Playing for “Always Be My Maybe” might just bring back memories of his comedic roles in the Bill and Ted franchise (1989–1991). But it was different seeing him play in a modern-day rom-com.

Same goes with his participation in the upcoming Toy Story 4. He’ll be playing a stuntman toy called Duke Caboon, showing off his action self. But still, that’s a kid’s movie y’all. Not to mention, he will be in the Cyberpunk 2077 video game. We completely lost our minds as soon as we say him in the trailer as Johnny Silverhand (another John!). But his hilarious heckle with an audience in E3 struck our hearts. While describing how breathtaking it is to walk the streets of the future, someone shouted: “You’re breathtaking!”. Keanu was startled for a moment but came back with “No! You’re breathtaking. You’re all breathtaking.”. Hot. Damn.

These moments are precious moments of how a big celebrity can be such a sweetheart. And yes, despite him being a celebrity doesn’t stop us from fantasizing him as our future husband. Because, who doesn’t want “the” Keanu Reeves himself, right?
