Netflix has confirmed the second season to the widely acclaimed series Umbrella Academy, and it’s set to premiere on the 31st of July. Reprising their roles for the sequel are Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, and Justin H. Min. 

 

Interestingly, the date announcement video adapted to the trends of the new normal, arriving in the form of a compilation of videos from the cast as they film themselves dancing to ‘I Think We’re Alone Now’ within the confines of their own houses. Returning as the showrunner and executive producer is Steve Blackman from Fargo and Altered Carbon. Umbrella Academy season two will feature ten 1-hour episodes and will be produced by UCP (Universal Content Productions). All episodes will be dropping on the same day for your pleasure. 

 

The Umbrella Academy is a superhero web TV series based on the comic book series by My Chemical Romance’s frontman, Gerard Way. The story begins in 1989 when 43 infants are randomly born from random women with no previous signs of pregnancy. Seven of them are adopted by a billionaire who creates The Umbrella Academy and trains them to save the world. Years later, the siblings, with extraordinary abilities, reunite to solve a mystery surrounding their father’s death and deal with an impending apocalypse that threatens humanity.
