Everyone’s favorite cat and mouse will be back and this time, they’re bringing the fight to the big screen.
Warner Bros. has unveiled the first official teaser trailer for the film adaptation of Tom & Jerry. Much like Space Jam, it’s partly animated and partly live-action, mixing real-life actors and places with computer-generated animals.
Set in New York City, the titular characters will be reviving their feud as Tom gets hired in a high-end hotel to protect a wedding from Jerry’s shenanigans. Wacky and filled with fun, animated violence, the trailer will surely bring the fans of the classic cartoon to a nostalgic ride back to childhood– all while introducing the iconic, decades-old rivalry to the younger demographics.
Watch the trailer below!
Tom & Jerry stars Chloe Grace Moretz, who plays a recently hired event planner tasked with the organizing of a big wedding. She is recruited by the hotel manager– played by Michael Peña (Ant Man, Fantasy Island)– who is alarmed by the hotel’s sudden mouse problems, hence the employment of Tom as the one in charge of Jerry. The cast also includes Ken Jeong, Rob Delaney, and Colin Jost.
Directed by Tim Story (Fantastic Four 1 and 2, Taxi), this film will be the latest addition to the big list of Tom and Jerry Projects that consist of TV shows and multiple films. The upcoming Tom & Jerry will be out in theaters in March 2021.
