Four days after the release of the much-awaited Netflix’s Kingdom Season 2 trailer, things get more intense as we are treated to its featurette.
Fans were delighted to know that the historical fantasy drama would be returning on Netflix this year. And they all felt it: the nail-biting tension brought by the bloody, action-packed season 2 trailer. But check out this featurette released by Netflix today, March 8, 2020.
Writer Kim Eun-hee says that she wanted to portray “people making choices and striving to overcome their difficulties within the confines of their social class and position. Director Kim Seong-Un also made sure that the pilot episode would be so epic viewers wouldn’t be able to take their eyes off the screen.
The war between the living and the dead continues
Set in a land haunted by a mysterious plaque that turned its people into flesh-eating monsters, Kingdom tells the story of Crown Prince Lee Chang, who is forced to investigate the plague while being involved in a socio-political entanglement.
You could tell if a show is worth a binge-watch if, at the end of the opening season, you find yourself wanting to instantly fly to the creators and beg them for more. At the finale of this South Korean drama, we bet you felt exactly the same, especially at that ultra-shocking cliffhanger (which we wouldn’t detail here because we hate spoilers as much as you do).
According to the creators, if season 1 was a story about a plague started by hunger, next season would be addressing the theme of ‘blood’, which is played out through bloodline, kinship, revenge, conflict, conspiracy, and the usurping of power.
The long wait is soon to be over
Netflix will be releasing the sequel on March 13, 2020. Netflix is the world’s leading streaming entertainment service with over 167 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, documentaries and feature films across a wide variety of genres and languages.
