Check out the first look at Netflix’s adaptation of ‘The Old Guard’.

Sypnosis: “Led by a warrior named Andy (Charlize Theron), a covert group of tight-knit mercenaries with a mysterious inability to die have fought to protect the mortal world for centuries.

But when the team is recruited to take on an emergency mission and their extraordinary abilities are suddenly exposed, it’s up to Andy and Nile (Kiki Layne), the newest soldier to join their ranks, to help the group eliminate the threat of those who seek to replicate and monetize their power by any means necessary.”

While THE OLD GUARD is an action-packed story, it also dives into the existential question of how it feels to be alive for so long, witnessing how humanity as a whole progresses through time. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Charlize Theron said, “From the first moment I read Rucka’s graphic novel, I felt like there was great potential to make this thing feel really very relevant and have it ask some real questions about humanity. Is what we’re doing enough? Is what we’re doing actually changing anything? Are we making [things] better, or are we making the world worse?”
