Have a speedy recovery, Batman!
English actor Robert Pattinson is said to have tested positive for COVID-19, halting the filming for the new Batman film a few days after it resumed in London.
Warner Bros. reported that a member of their crew had acquired the coronavirus, although they did not specify who it was. US media confirmed later on that it was Pattinson, who stars as the new Bruce Wayne in the upcoming fictional superhero drama.
“A member of The Batman production has tested positive for Covid-19, and is isolating in accordance with established protocols. Filming is temporarily paused,” a spokesperson for Warner Bros. said.
Since the production for ‘The Batman’ was put on hold, Warner Bros. has decided to move its theatrical release from June 2021 to October 2021.
Directed by Planet of the Apes filmmaker Matt Reeves, the film sees Twilight star Robert Pattinson following the footsteps of Michael Keaton, George Clooney, Christian Bale, and Ben Affleck as the Gotham City superhero. It also stars Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, and Colin Farrel as the Penguin.
