Sandra Oh is really a badass, on and off the screen.

Sandra Oh, 49, surprised everyone with her brief appearance during a Stop Asian Hate demonstration in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In front of the crowd, the former Grey’s Anatomy star made a heartfelt speech against Asian hate, urging everyone to help support the Asian community.

In a video posted by CBS Pittburg, the award-winning actress could be seen holding a megaphone surrounded by people, as she thanked everyone who organized and attended the rally.

“Pittsburgh, I am so happy and proud to be here with you and thank you to all the organizers for organizing this just to give us an opportunity to be together and to stand together and to feel each other,” said Oh.

“For many of us in our community, this is the first time we are even able to voice our fear and our anger, and I really am so grateful for everyone willing to listen.”

“One thing that I know is that many in our community are very scared, and I understand that. And one way to go through our fear is to reach out to our community.” Oh added, before challenging the crowd to everyone to help in the fight against Asian violence. “If you see something, will you help me? If you see one of our sisters and brothers in need, will you help us? We must understand, as Asian Americans, we just need to reach out our hand to our sisters and brothers and say, ‘Help me and I’m here.'”

The actress ended her speech by yelling, “I am proud to be Asian! I belong here!”

This demonstration was held in the wake of the recent series of shootings in Atlanta, where 8 people were killed and 6 of whom were Asian women. Sandra Oh is just one of the many celebrities who have voiced out their support for the Asian community. The likes of Daniel Dae Kim, Trevor Noah, Olivia Munn, and many others have spoken out against Asian hate crime.
