“The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,” the latest addition to Marvel Studios’ tsunami of content on Disney+, also suffered the wrath of the global pandemic. Initially set to launch on the streaming service in the fall of 2020, filming was paused back in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Resuming production in September, the release date is now slated for March 19. 2021.

And at the height of the thrill during Super Bowl live broadcast on Sunday, February 7, a new trailer for MCU’s next television installment was dropped. While a big movie reveal in the midst of 2021 Super Bowl (along with the wave of commercials) was sort of an expected move, still, that did not prevent the Avengers fans from getting all hyped up when they saw the special sneak peek teaser for the upcoming miniseries.

“The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” welcomes back Anthonie Mackie (Falcon) and Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier) as they reprise their respective Avengers’ role for yet another action-fueled adventure. The series picks up after the events of Avengers: Endgame, which ended with Steve Rogers (played by Chris Evans) retiring from his role as Captain America.

The trailer highlights the explosive (and bromance-like) team-up between the two titular superheroes, the arrival of a masked villain, Falcon’s wielding of Captain America’s shield, and that brief, emotional moment where Sam is seen standing against a large banner of Steve Rogers, a distressed look on his face denoting that he could be at a funeral for Captain America.

“The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” will have six episodes, and will premiere on Disney+ on March 19, 2021. Watch the trailer below!
