It’s a sad day for an old friend but a good day as we welcome a new one!

With an ever-growing international fan base, it should come as no surprise that the demand for more accessible free anime has made people resort to film piracy.

KissAnime (and KissManga) has been serving the global community for over a decade now, bridging the gap between the east and the west via subtitles in the fantasy world of Japanese animation.

Their service has officially come to a final halt as of 10:50 pm on August 14, upon the grounds of stricter Japanese copyright laws. At 10: 50 PM, the KissAnime support team posted this statement on their official Discord account: “KissManga and KissAnime will be closed forever. Thank you for your supports ☹ Thank you for those years.”

New websites claim to be the new domain housing official content from KissAnime and KissManga but it is best to stay away from these domains as they have been found to be used for phishing purposes and are highly dangerous for your devices.

Legally Free Anime on Youtube?

Nani?!

You read that right! Over 30 Japanese anime production companies have banded together to form AnimeLog–a Youtube channel where we can access all their titles. Sugoi~~

Toei Animation (One Piece, Digimon), Tezuka Productions (Kimba The White Lion, Black Jack), Kodansha (Noragami, Akira, Cardcaptor Sakura), Nippon Animation (Hunter X Hunter), and Shin-Ei Animation (Doraemon, Crayon Shin-Chan) are just some of the most renowned companies to be sharing their titles through this channel. The vision of the organization is to launch over 3000 anime titles by 2022 and reach insurmountable views monthly.

At the moment, AnimeLog is only available in Japan; however, the channel is set to launch English-subbed and Chinese-subbed titles for international subscribers real soon.

Some titles included in the subtitled launch are Black Jack, based on the manga by Osamu Tezuka, the Hayao Miyazaki-directed 1978 series Future Boy Conan from Nippon Animation, Astro Boy, Lucy of the Southern Rainbow and Aesop’s Fables.

Do you think it was a fair move to shut down KissAnime?
