In an interview with SiriusXM’s Hits 1 about the Trolls World Tour where Justin is one of the main cast, he complained about taking care of his son 24-hours a day.
“We’re doing good. We’re mostly commiserating over the fact that we… just, 24-hour parenting is just not human,” said the 39-year-old American singer and actor.
Parents are not happy
JT and his wife Jessica Biel are currently in Montana with their son Silas to self-isolate during the coronavirus pandemic. But after Justin Timberlake left a statement on an interview with SiriusXM complaining about their parenting duties, parents on twitter were quick to point out the lack of sensitivity in the pop star’s comment.
While it came out as a joke, people were upset that Justin Timberlake seemed to turn a blind eye on the fact that not everyone is enjoying the same privilege as him and his family. For them, it’s much easier to be a parent when you have as much wealth as JT and Biel possess. As of 2020, it is estimated that the former NSYNC frontman has a net worth of 250 million dollars. Sounds like they could afford child care services, eh?
Since the COVID-19 became a global crisis, many parents have lost their jobs and now rely on provisions from the government to survive. Frontliner parents have to physically distance themselves from their children to avoid risking their health. For these people, making a joke out of being a parent might be inappropriate, given the current situation.
Neither from the celebrity couple has responded to the critics.
