It’s a sequel series to “How I Met Your Mother” and will star Hilary Duff!

Hulu has announced that a sequel to CBS’ long-running sitcom ‘How I Met Your Mother’ is in the works, and it’s gonna be called ‘How I Met Your Father’. The streaming service revealed that it has ordered a 10-episode series tying up to the popular comedy show, and Hilary Duff is the name attached to the project.

In ‘How I Met Your Father’, Hilary Duff will portray Sophie, a mother who is telling her son how she met his father. Although it remains a question how the sequel series will connect its story to its predecessor, it’s revealed that Sophie’s narration will be a flashback to the year 2021 when she and her friends were just trying to find out what they wanted to do in life and “how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options”.

“This Is Us” co-showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger are the names attached to the new series as its writers and executive producers. ‘How I Met Your Mother’ creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas will serve as the producers.

‘How I Met Your Mother’ ran for nine seasons from 2005 to 2014, and is a cult favorite with fanbases in many countries including the Philippines. It follows the lead character, Ted Mosby, as he recalls to his son the events that led him to meet their mother.
