It’s really happening! ‘High School Musical’ star Zac Efron and ‘Mamma Mia’ actress Amanda Seyfried have joined the cast of the upcoming ‘Scooby-doo’ animated film. And yes, everyone’s excited to see their favorite Saturday-morning cartoons back in action once again!

According to Deadline, Zac Efron and Amanda Seyfried will play the key roles of the animated film reboot of the 1960s’ classic ‘Scooby Doo’. The movie will be entitled ‘Scoob’. Zac will voice the handsome Fred Jones. On the other hand, Amanda will be the voice of the ever gorgeous Daphne Blake. Aside from them, the cast will also feature the voice of Frank Welker as Scooby, who has played the original role for a long time. Will Forte (The Last Man on Earth) will play as Shaggy Rogers. Also, Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin) voices Velma Dinkley while Tracy Morgan (30 Rock) plays as Captain Caveman.

So far, the cast and the title are the only things revealed. The plots details are still kept a secret. But the Mystery Inc. gang will be seen with some Hanna-Barbera characters along the way. And one thing’s for sure, they will save the world from Dick Dastardly again. This upcoming film will be the first ‘Scooby-Doo’ movie to hit the theaters after 2004’s ‘Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed’. And way back then, Freddie Prinze Jr. played as Fred and Sarah Michelle Gellar as Daphne.

The movie will be under Warner Bros. and is set to premiere on May 2020.
