Nothing brightens up our day like an adorable cat or dog video. And Dunkin’ Donuts filled up that daily need with their newest ad!
If you haven’t already seen the new Dunkin’ Donuts ad featuring a small little furbaby, then we’re warning you now: it’s way too cute! I don’t know about any of you, but I used to pick-up stray cats when I was younger. And as the little boy did in the video, I would hide it from my mom too. But of course, I would always get caught. And just like in this video, my mom eventually let me keep one and it was one of the happiest days of my life. So this just really hits home for me. So if you haven’t seen the video, you can watch it here:
A lesson only a first pet can teach
What did I tell you? Wasn’t that vid just aww-worthy? We just can’t stop gushing about Dunkin’ Donuts’ new ad because it tells the story of a lesson only a first pet can teach. And how Buboy’s dad encouraged that lesson.
In the video, we saw how Buboy went straight to playing with his friends immediately after coming home. He hasn’t even changed clothes or put away his school bag. But then after choosing to take care of the kitten, he found a sense of responsibility that he didn’t have before. He started cleaning his room, passing on invites from friends to play outside, and even studying with the kitten. And just when he thought he had been found out. His dad calls him over and surprises him with a little house for the kitten. And if that isn’t enough to melt hearts, I don’t know what will.
Walang makulit na bata sa pusang gala.
We just absolutely love the underlying message that Dunkin’ Donut’s new ad delivers. We get that people want pets that have breeds or are pretty, and cute. But if you’re simply looking for a pet that will forever be grateful and give you their unconditional love. We strongly suggest that you adopt instead of shop. There are many different ways of adopting. You can adopt from a friend whose pet just gave birth, or you can go to different animal welfare institutions and find one that touches your heart the most.
One of the options is CARA Welfare Philippines, they have an extensive list of both cats and dogs up for adoption. All for the small fee of 800 PHP for cats and 1,200 PHP for dogs. Another option is PAWS Philippines, they have a smaller adoption fee of 500 PHP for cats and 1,000 PHP for dogs.
How did Dunkin’ Donuts’ new ad make you feel? Did it hit you with a wave of nostalgia and feels too? And what’s your stand on strays and adoption? We’d love to hear what you think! So share with us your thoughts in the comments down below! Or hit us up on our Facebook or Twitter @UDoUPh.
