What if you only have one day? One day to experience love and fall in love? Will you take the chance? Will you take the leap of faith? Raise your hand if you’re ready to see Daniel and Natasha’s oddly realistic yet romantic love story! In the film adaptation of the novel ‘The Sun Is Also A Star’ of Nicola Yoon, we witness a love story between two immigrants in the bustling city of New York. And all they have is a single day.

Natasha (Yara Shahidi) is a girl of science and facts. She doesn’t believe in the concept of love. Not in fate. Nor even in destiny. All she believes in are cold hard facts. But when she meets a cute Asian boy named Daniel (Charles Melton) in the middle of New York City, she’s put in a hard position to reconsider whether to fall in love for the very first time. Before she even goes away. Because in 12 hours, she’ll be flying home back to Jamaica.  Will their intertwined fate bring an extraordinary future for them?

Indeed, the movie shows a multicultural representation of immigrants falling in love in a play where they don’t belong in the first place. It tackles the reality of young adult romance that centers on stories of immigration that happens all over the world. According to reports, the movie showcases real-life Korean American and Jamaican American traditions. Inspired by the true-to-life romance of the author, it gives you a realistic take on how immigrants struggle in their daily lives not only romance, in uncharted territories.

Catch Natasha and Daniel grapple with the reality as they try to fall in love between dreams and science. ‘The Sun Is Also A Star’ premiere on May 17, 2019, at all cinemas nationwide.
