‘Steven Universe Future’ drops a new intro for Season 6!

Are you still hung up on ‘Steven Universe: The Movie’? Us too! But you’ll be thrilled to know that Cartoon Network has officially dropped a new intro for ‘Steven Universe Future’!

Rebecca Sugar and Cartoon Network has given us five beautiful seasons and a fantastic movie. And now they’re giving us a final “epilogue limited series” in the form of ‘Steven Universe Future’. As much as we love new content on anything Steven Universe we’re also sad that this may be the last. So the new season will take place after the events of ‘Steven Universe: The Movie’. And the new intro was unveiled during the 2019 New York Comic Con! Cartoon Network describes the newest season as, “After saving the universe, Steven is still at it, tying up every loose end. But as he runs out of other people’s problems to solve, he’ll finally have to face his own.” Ohhh! Very ominous, right? Although, there’s no official release date yet. So we’ll just have to obsess over everything we’ve learned from the new intro for now.

Loose ends?

So what exactly are those loose ends that Steven has to tie up? Well as any normal fan would do, we’ve looked a little too close into the new intro for ‘Steven Universe Future’ and found some very exciting hints as to who or what those loose ends are.

So in this scene from the intro, we can see the potential foes that Steven will face in ‘Steven Universe Future’. The most prominent and easily notable one is what appears to be Jasper. But we last saw Jasper at the end of Season 5 being healed from her corruption in the fountain. So maybe her hatred for the Crystal Gems and Rose Quartz hasn’t been totally appeased? We’ll have to wait and see.

Another is the Steven cactus monster. Which reminds us of the time he gave life to a tribe of Steven Watermelons. Could this be a part that shows Steven still learning about his full powers?

And right behind Jasper, is a gem that looks like Aquamarine. But not exactly like her. She has a bit of red in there. Could she have fused with that Ruby soldier, Eyeball? Who we last saw drifting off in space? And then to her left is a giant monster thing that we have never seen the likes of in the show.

We can also see two Lapiz Lazulis flying in the background, maybe this arc will shed more light on who Lapis was before Steven released her from the mirror?

But the most baffling of all is the gem on the far left who looks like White Diamond but she’s in the colour of Pink Diamond.

The good news is…

There are several instantaneous good news from the new intro for ‘Steven Universe Future’ and they are:

  1. Little Homeworld is now complete! There is a scene where you can see the finished towers of Litte Homeworld in the background.
  2. The Crystal Gems have officially grown in number! Aside from the core four of them, they are now joined by the Diamonds, the Off-Colors, the Nephrites, the now-healed corrupted gems, and Spinel. As well as Connie, Lars, Bismuth, Lapis and Peridot.
  3. Steven can drive! It just makes us so happy, because we’ve watched him grow into the young man he is today! *sniffs*
  4. The residents of Beach City have learned to live life with gems!

It’s been six years since Steven Universe debuted in 2013, but it’s never too late! So what are you waiting for? Get on the bandwagon for ‘Steven Universe Future’ with us! You can watch the new intro for ‘Steven Universe Future’ right here:
