So in case you’re keeping old Twitter accounts because of… sentimental reasons, then we suggest you log into them now to mark your account safe from the possible oncoming Twitter purge!

Because Twitter has been sending out e-mails that warn account users, that their accounts may be subject to removal if it has been inactive for more than six months.

Originally, the mass deleting of inactive Twitter accounts was set to take place this December 11th. But after the news gained traction online, users began to voice out one major concern with the Twitter purge.

There’s the issue of deceased account holders…

So since this cleanup naturally includes the accounts of those who have passed away, not everyone is happy about it. So users have spoken up about the issue, and have pushed the company to opt for a memorialize option. And it looks like they have been heard. Twitter released a statement addressing the issue, just today. Check out the thread below:

So whether or not the mass deleting of inactive Twitter accounts will take place on December 11th. It’s better to be safe than sorry. So if you want to keep those old accounts alive, maybe log in every now and then.
