Ready to cry? You better be! Because Nadine Lustre and Aga Mulach will star in a remake of ‘Miracle in Cell No. 7’!

Aga Mulach and Nadine Lustre in a film? Sounds exciting! What if we tell you that it’s going to be a Pinoy remake of the hit Korean film, ‘Miracle in Cell No. 7’? I know, right? We. Are. So. Stoked!

Miracle in Cell No. 7

Miracle in Cell No. 7 ranks first in our list of films that made us cry, even surpassing Titanic. There’s really nothing that would beat this movie when it comes to tugging on our heartstrings. Plot-wise, ‘Miracle in Cell No. 7’ follows the story of a mentally challenged man who was wrongfully imprisoned (and sentenced) for murder. In prison, he made friends who allowed him to smuggle his daughter, Ye-seung into the prison in his last days.

We all know why this film was an absolute tear-jerking one. More than love, nothing breaks our hearts more than family. Even more so, the film showed us the father’s side, his point of view of how everything happened. And so we know for a fact that he was innocent, but it becomes so frustrating that he could not defend himself, one, because he was mentally challenged, and two, because he was blackmailed. What’s more frustrating is that not even his daughter knew about it. And even if she knew, she couldn’t have done anything to help her father that time. The innocence and sense of responsibility of Ye-seung for her dad are probably what touched us the most. On top of this, the daughter only got the justice his father deserves years after he’s long dead.

This being said, we think that ‘Miracle in Cell No. 7’ is absolutely going to be a tough act to follow. Casting Nadine Lustre and Aga Mulach was a great choice! In this film, we’d see them as we’ve never seen them before. To be fair, this is going to be the first time we’ll see Aga Mulach play a mentally challenged man. In the same way, Nadine’s acting skills would be put to the test, too! 2019 sure is working good for her, with ‘Ulan’ getting good reviews and ‘Indak’ on the way. We’d be so happy to see her and real-life partner James Reid on-screen again, but we’ll have to wait!

Nuel Nuval will direct the movie. In addition to this, Joel Torre, JC Santos, and Arjo Atayde were announced as members of the cast. We just couldn’t wait to see these veteran stars working together on-screen, but we’re missing an important character here. Who will play the young Ye-seung? Will she still be named Ye-seung in the Pinoy remake? I think the casting for her character would define the entire film!

Just tell us when, and we’ll have our tissues ready. Are you excited to see the Pinoy remake of ‘Miracle in Cell No. 7’, too? How do you feel about the casting? Share us your thoughts on the comments down below! Or hit us up on our Facebook or Twitter @UDoUPh.
