May the elder Gods watch over us! Because the ‘Mortal Kombat’ film reboot has officially begun production!

You’ll need to leave the kids at home for this one, folks! If the 1995 film lacked in gusto for you. Then just imagine what the ‘Mortal Kombat’ reboot can give you with today’s cinematic technology. Pounding fists, breaking bones, and epic FATALITIES! All that and more because the ‘Mortal Kombat’ film reboot has officially begun production! Here’s everything we know so far about the Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema film!

Mehcad Brooks says we aren’t ready… and he may be right!

Because James Wan is one of the producers for the new film. And well, his works aren’t exactly family-friendly. His most recent works include The Nun, Annabelle Comes Home, and Insidious to name a few. He is also known for his works on the Saw movies. And we think that’s only appropriate if you’re making a Mortal Kombat film reboot—you’ll need those epic fatalities to really shine through on the big screen. Check out this short clip from Mehcad Brooks, it’s the first and only snippet we have so far on the ongoings of the film:

Mehcad Brooks will be playing as Jax and is most known for his role on Desperate Housewives.

The cast so far

Here’s another little preview for you. Greg Russo, the scriptwriter of the film shared a photo of a film clapper on set. And it even had the Mortal Kombat logo on it!

Looks like things are really starting to get going. So as for the rest of the cast. So far we have Chin Han as Shang Tsung, Hiroyuki Sanada as Scorpion, Joe Taslim as Sub Zero, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Josh Lawson as Kano, Tadanobu Asano as Raiden, Sisi Stringer as Mileena and as we’ve mentioned earlier Mehcad Brooks as Jackson “Jax” Bridges. And we don’t know if this says anything, but we have a debuting director spearheading the film—Simon McQuoid. But nevertheless, we are excited about the prospect of the ‘Mortal Kombat’ film reboot!

And that about sums it up. We don’t really have much information yet as to what the plot of the movie is about. But it did only just begin production. And it will also be a while before we see it on the big screen. As it is set to release on March 5, 2021. But don’t worry, we’ll keep you posted on any new updates!
