Is the Lizzie McGuire reboot really ending before it even begins?

No chill pill can calm us down for this news, The Lizzie McGuire reboot has officially stopped production! And that’s because the original series creator, Terry Minsky has stepped down as the reboot’s showrunner!

According to a Disney spokesperson, “Fans have a sentimental attachment to Lizzie McGuire and high expectations for a new series.” And that, “After filming two episodes, we concluded that we need to move in a different creative direction and are putting a new lens on the show.” So in simpler terms, they need someone with a new vision for the show, but what if they can’t find a replacement for Terry Minski?

The Lizzie McGuire reboot was even part of the new Disney+ promo teaser! So we’re just in total disbelief that it may be canceled. But let’s have faith, and we’ll update you as soon as we receive word that the Lizzie McGuire reboot is back in production! In the meantime, catch a glimpse of Lizzie below:

Gordo Lizzie McGuire reboot

Now we know what dreams are made of! Because Adam Lamberg is reprising his role as Gordo and is now officially part of the Lizzie McGuire reboot!

Disney+ has us officially spoiled rotten! Since their launch last November 12, they have provided us with tons of nostalgic content. And now to top it all of, we get news that the OG Gordo is back to reprise his role? Total score! Anyways, this very special news was delivered straight from Disney’s official YouTube channel last November 19.

And can we just say that both of them looked very much their respective roles! Especially since Hilary Duff is now sporting her new bangs. And at the end of it, Gordo delivered the iconic line, “this is what dreams are made of.”

Here’s everything we know about the Lizzie McGuire reboot!


So what we know so far is that the Lizzie McGuire reboot will follow Lizzie’s new life in NYC, who is now in her thirties! So here’s a little overview of Lizzie’s new life, she has a job as an assistant to an Interior Designer, she has a beautiful Brooklyn apartment, and is engaged to a chef! Overall, her life seems perfect! But now that Gordo is officially back in the frame, who knows what’ll happen?

Unfortunately, there is no release date yet. But we do know that they have officially started production. Look she even shared this photo of her first shoot day in NYC!

Overall, we’re just really over the moon that Adam Lamberg is reprising his role as Gordo! And who knows, maybe Lalaine will reprise her role as Miranda too? Here’s hoping!
