If there’s one other (less somber) thing that people talked about the most today, it may just be the 2020 Grammy Awards. After all, it is an annual prestigious awards show that a lot of people, both the artists and the fans of the music industry, look forward to.

The 2020 Grammys happened earlier today and somehow, it became something that seemed of lesser importance. In relation to the sad news about Kobe Bryant and her daughter Gianna’s passing, the prestigious awards show suddenly seemed to be something superficial.

However, there is no denying that the acknowledgment of the hard work of the artists and people behind every music hit is also something that is worth talking about. After all, it is an awards show meant to celebrate the continuous contribution of great musicians to the industry. Not to mention, there are also notable things that happened in today’s Grammys.

BTS’s “Seoul Town Road” Performance

We all know you have been waiting for it (because we were too) and finally, Korean boy band BTS got to perform on the Grammy stage – making them the first Korean act to achieve such feat! In case you haven’t watched it yet though, watch their really short but fun performance with Lil Nas X for “Seoul Town Road” by simply playing the video below!

Although their screen time was a bit too fast for our taste, we still see that the boys really enjoyed their time on the stage. Also even though they were not full-on dancing, it’s ridiculous how they still seem to make their moves look classy yet on point. Hopefully by next year’s Grammys though, they will have their own solo stage!

Demi Lovato’s Stage Comeback

After being hospitalized from a drug overdose last 2018, Demi Lovato is finally back to perform on the stage–and not just any stage at that but the Grammys! Singing her new single “Anyone“, she surely touched a lot of hearts with her performance. Watch her genuine yet amazing performance below.

Of course, to complete her performance a standing ovation ensued from the audience. With the emotions and passion that she shared, she rightly deserved it, tbh.

Tribute to Kobe Bryant

And to cap off some of the important highlights from the Grammys, here is a performance by Alicia Keys with Boyz II Men. Paying a tribute to Kobe Bryant and to the other people affected by the tragedy, they sang a soulful hymn which surely made an impact on those at the Staples Center themselves. Watch it below.

Frankly, we have no words for this. So we will just leave it to you to appreciate it.

The 2020 Grammy Awardees

For the 2020 Grammys, Billie Eilish surely made history when she brought home 4 major awards, namely: Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Best New Artist. You can check out the other winners for the main awards below.
