The long wait is over, Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump announced the release date of Haikyuu!! Season 4 along with other surprises.

It’s been almost 3 years since the last season of the highly anticipated anime, ‘Haikyuu!!’, but Weekly Shonen Jump just gave us good news this week by confirming the official release of ‘Haikyuu!!” Season 4 to be on January 2020 during Jump Festa 2019.

The upcoming season picks up from Kurasuno High’s journey in the Spring Interhigh after beating Shiratorizawa Academy in the regional tournament.

Along with the anime’s new season, they also announced new character designs which include Nekoma High School’s Kenma Kozume and Tetsuro Kuroo, and Fukurodani Academy’s Kotaro Bokuto and Keiji Akaashi.

But wait, it’s not over! Shonen Jump also announced a new character coming straight off the manga series named, Daishou Suguru, captain of Nohebi Academy and he will be voiced by Kazuyuki Okitsu.

Furthermore, we can expect two ‘Haikyuu!!” OVA’s called ‘Land vs Sky’ and ‘The Volleyball Way’ on Blu-Ray/DVD on January 22, 2020.

‘Land vs Sky’ will focus on Fukurodani and Nekoma’s match during the semifinals of the Tokyo Area Qualifiers. We will see Fukurodani’s wing spiker Bokuto going head-to-head with Nekoma’s libero, Yaku. In ‘The Volleyball Way’, Nekoma and Nohebi fight for the last spot to play in Tokyo for the Spring Tournament.

What’s ‘Haikyuu!!’ about?

‘Haikyuu!’! is a shonen manga series created by Haruichi Furudate. It focuses on Shouyou Hinata and Tobio Kageyama, two aspiring volleyball players, who wish to become the best and bring back their team’s former glory. Hinata is Kurasuno High’s middle spiker but famously known as their “decoy” because of his short stature, while Kageyama is their genius setter. Together, they produce godlike attacks that catch enemies off-guard whenever they see it.

‘Haikyuu!!’ easily captivates its audience because of each character’s perseverance and determination in every game. This anime teaches us not to give up on our dreams even if the going gets rough.

Fans keep on coming back for more ‘Haikyuu!!’ episodes because of Hinata and Tobio’s hilarious duo stunts. We see them trying to get along even though they have different personalities. Hinata is the livelier type and the clown of their team while Tobio is always serious and hotheaded.

We advise you to check the manga series first so you can have a good idea of Season 4. But as for now, the only thing we can do is wait.
