Soon on the GMA Network, a Filipino version of the hit South Korean variety show ‘Running Man‘ will be coming to air! 

If you are a fan or even just a neutral observer of the Korean wave or Hallyu, you would know that a lot of South Korean media is now influencing other cultures as well. From K-pop to K-dramas, they are taking over people – Filipinos obviously included – in a crazy surge of entertaining and engaging content. Now with their help, it seems like Filipino media is also planning to take the game to another level.

If you recall, just recently the Filipino adaptation for the hit K-drama “Descendants of the Sun had its premiere. With the main characters played by Dingdong Dantes and Jennylyn Mercado, the local version actually looked really promising. Moreover, it seems like GMA Network has more plans in mind.

Signing a co-production deal with SBS Korea, we are really expecting a lot from this upcoming local franchise of “Running Man”! Likewise, Kim Yong-Jae, Chief Global Contents Officer of the South Korean network, says he is expecting a lot from the Philippines.

According to a GMA report, we can expect the Filipino version of “Running Man” to air by 2021. In the meantime, fans are sharing their thoughts on the exciting news as seen through tweets below.
