We just really need more of The Witcher in our lives…
After the major success (yes, we’re claiming it) of Netflix’s ‘The Witcher’ it’s only natural to yearn for more, right? And there have been rumors that an animated version of ‘The Witcher’ may be coming soon. And we’re here to tell you that they’re absolutely true!
SURPRISE! An animated Witcher movie is actually in the works!
The rumors are true, a new Witcher story is in the works! The anime film, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, will take us back to a new threat facing the Continent. Brought to you by the Witcher team @LHissrich and @BeauDeMayo, and Studio Mir the studio behind Legend of Korra.

That’s right, but don’t get your hopes up. Because we won’t be seeing much of Geralt of Rivia in ‘The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf’. It was confirmed, just yesterday, that the upcoming animated Witcher movie will instead be about Geralt’s mentor Vesemir. But what we’re more excited about is that it’s from the studio that created ‘The Legend of Korra’, the sequel to the beloved animated series ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’. And ICYDK, ‘The Legend of Korra’ boasts amazing scenery and animation.
Time is weird with The Witcher, huh?
So the first season of Netflix’s ‘The Witcher’ ended with Geralt finally meeting Princess Cirilla of Cintra. And Yennefer of Vengerberg sacrificing herself to fend off the armies of Nilfgaard. All the while confusing us with its melded timeline narration. And unfortunately, that may be the last we’ll be seeing of our beloved Henry Cavill. That is until season 2 comes in 2021, which is a really long wait. So we guess Netflix will be sating our appetites for more of the world of ‘The Witcher’ by taking us into the past with Geralt’s mentor Vesemir.
Overall, we’re really stoked to see an animated version of ‘The Witcher’. Especially since it’s going to be made by the studio that created ‘The Legend of Korra’. Even if it doesn’t have Geralt of Rivia as much… (we’re okay, really.)
So what are your expectations for the animated Netflix movie, ‘The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf’? We’d love to hear what you think! So share with us your thoughts in the comments down below! Or hit us up on our Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.
