Celebrate summer nights as the musical and 1978 film ‘Grease’ comes to our TV screens!

Do you remember when the badass Danny Zuko and the goodie Sandy Olsson met each other during the summer nights? Us too! So if you haven’t known yet, a prequel to ‘Grease’ is coming and it will specially focus on the details of their holiday romance by the beach.

Originally played by John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John in the film, the two characters just had so much chemistry and we can’t wait to know more about their summer affair! The prequel will be called ‘Summer Loving’ as announced last April this year.

This really makes us excited because of the possibility of new bops, the kilig feels, and a lot more!

But that’s not all because last Tuesday, October 15, chairman of Warner Media Entertainment Robert Greenblatt revealed some more exciting news. A TV spin-off series is also coming and it will be based on the original ‘Grease’ musical itself!

A Grease TV Series

What really makes us excited about this is the way Robert Greenblatt has described it. He said:

“We’re going to reinvent it as a musical series, with some of the music of the show, some of the characters. We’re going to build out the world of the show that everybody loves… into a big, fun rock ‘n’ roll musical.”

Moreover, the show will still have that teenage angst that we all were crazy for! Of course, original songs from the musical will be included, and hits from the 1950s will also be added.

There is no announced cast yet, but somehow we can imagine Artic Monkeys‘ Alex Turner as Danny Zuko.

But hey, that was just our imagination. You can also share your choice of artists to play the characters by commenting below!

In the meantime, let’s jam to the classic ‘Grease’ songs that we could all sing the lyrics to. Ladies and gentleman, introducing the badass Sandy Olsson in ‘You’re the One That I Want’!

Damn, who wouldn’t want her?
