If you’ve noticed how we seem to have stopped hearing from Emma Watson for quite a while now, this new report suggests that her lack of presence both in show business and in social media could be for good.

Fans have been flooding Twitter with farewell words and appreciation posts due to the shocking announcement concerning Watson’s alleged retirement from Hollywood.

Watson’s agent and publicist reportedly told Daily Mail that the actress’s career has gone “dormant,” and that she is “not taking on new commitments.” Her purpose for finally stepping away from the spotlight is to spend more time with her rumored fiance, Leo Robinton, whom she’s been dating for 18 months.

Daily Mail adds that as per their source, Watson has gone underground and is settling down with Leo. “They’re laying low. Maybe she wants a family,” the source explains.

Watson and Robinton are speculated to have met in 2017 at a Women’s Match in Washington, D.C., but their first time being photographed together was in October 2019. According to Daily Mail, the couple secretly lived in Ibiza in early January and spent mornings “reading the papers over smoothies at a vegan cafe.”

If proven true, then this marks the end of Watson’s 21-year career in the acting industry. Watson, who made her acting debut as Hermoine Granger in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (2001), has gone on to become one of Hollywood’s most sought-after actresses. After becoming a household name in the widely popular Harry Potter film series, she also starred in other successful films like My Week with Marilyn, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and Beauty and the Beast. Her latest project is the 2019 Oscar-winning film adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s ‘Little Women.’

Emma Watson retiring is something very personal to me. No I will not be getting over this,” another Twitter user added.
