Apparently, the Kpop industry and some of our idols aren’t what they’re supposed to be. The Seungri sex crime scandal and his involvement in a prostitution mediation case lead to horrifying discoveries!

Kpop industry has always been one of the defining identities in the Korean culture. No matter how rich their culture is, Kpop attracts many people of different nationalities around the world. And Korean idols never leave the top news of every day. And once again, Kpop icons grace the hottest news in an all-time high. However, this involves an expose of famous Korean artists involved in a sex crime scandal.

Lately, the silent issue on Korean icons’ involvement in sex crimes has come to light. Lee Seung-hyun or Seungri found himself at the center of a snowballing sex crime scandal among other artists. Seungri had a perfect, clean image. A member of one of the most successful Kpop groups, Big Bang. A beloved actor and artist with a great sense of humor and astounding work ethics. And a successful businessman. Indeed, Seungri is a name that spits perfection. But it turns out that he isn’t the man that we know of.

He went under investigation after several women claimed to have been sexually assaulted and drugged at the Burning Sun club which he owned. Apparently, the said club in the upscale Gangnam neighborhood allegedly bribes police officers to cover up their dark deeds; securing prostitutes for VIPs, rape, illegal spycam, drug trafficking, and drug use. As of now, police are investigating him for violating South Korea’s prostitution law and faces other charges as well.

Seungri Sex Crime Scandal

Evidently, it wasn’t just Seungri who’s involved in the sex crime scandal going on. Police also confirmed the involvement of other artists to Sengri’s sex crime scandal. This includes singer-songwriter Jung Joon-young, F.T. Island member Choi Jong-hoon, CNBlue member Lee Jong-hyun and Highlight’s Yong Jun-hyung. They were members of an online group chat where they share illegal spycam videos and non-consensual sexually explicit videos of women.

In a chat from their online group chat, Jung allegedly wrote: “Let’s all get together online, hit the strip bar and rape them in the car.”. Apparently, Jung seems to be the ring leader of the operation. Aside from that, one member of the group said: “Our lives are like a movie. We have done so many things that could put us in jail. We just haven’t killed anyone.”. At the same time, Jung is also involved in the procurement of prostitutes in the Burning Sun club.

So far, YG Entertainment ended Seungri’s contract. The investigation is still underway but men are facing charges that can lead up to 6 years of imprisonment.

Is this the side of Kpop that we don’t acknowledge? I do hope that Seungri’s sex crime scandal sheds light to the dark side of Kpop. Share us your thoughts on the comments down below. Or hit us up on our Facebook or Twitter @UDoUPh.
