Big man in a suit of armour. Take that off, what are you?

For Marvel star Chris Evans, the answer isn’t too complicated. In fact, it can be condensed into one sentence: he’s a simple fur dad who also loves trees.

On-screen, Evans is a man of many-splendored thing. He’s most notably famous as a film actor, especially for his work as Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We still get the goosies each time we see– or think about– him raising Thor’s Hammer during the final battle in Avengers: Endgame, a scene that is arguably one of the most iconic in modern film history.

However, on social media, the Hollywood star is not a brave and mighty shield-wielding superhero. If you’re one of his 14.1 million followers on Twitter (and 7.1 million on Instagram), you would have noticed how the content he posts paints him as one of us– just a chill, regular dude who takes delight in simple things.

Evans and Dodger

The Knives Out actor has been melting millions of hearts with his abundant supply of adorable selfies and videos with his fur baby, Dodger. Their relationship began as a case of love at first sight. This was revealed in a throwback clip posted by Evans on Twitter in celebration of 2018’s #NationalPetDay. The video shows his first encounter with the mixed-breed boxer, who had been in an animal shelter prior to his adoption.

For the caption, Chris wrote: “I knew right away that he was coming home with me, so I took this video to always remember our first hello. Rescue dogs are the best dogs!!” You could see in the video clip how Dodger excitedly wagged his tail as his soon-to-be-father played with him, as if he was so sure he had found his human in Chris.

Over the years, their frequently documented pawsome relationship has been a constant source of internet good vibes. Evans’ social media accounts actually contain more of Dodger than the actor himself. When Evans finally joined Instagram in May 2020, his adoration towards Dodger was even more emphasized. On his page, he regularly posts updates on the dog, whether he has just woken up, he’s in a bad mood, or he’s happily goofing around with his dad. One of the most talked-about Dodger dose is that photo from October 25, which shows the dog laying on Evan’s chest with a Dodger tattoo on it. Talk about dedicated parenting!

He likes trees

Recently, Evans’ not-so-wide variety of interests gave space for another member: trees! As Fall started to make its presence felt across America, so did Chris Evans’ appreciation for the season’s manifestations such as the cool changes in how our natural environment looks.

“It’s starting,” said the 39-year-old actor as she posted a scenic shot of a tree starting to change its color, with its leaves beginning to have patches of red.

Little did anyone know that by “starting,” Chris wasn’t only referring to the Fall. It also served as an introduction to another series of content that proves how Chris is just like your average tito (uncle in English) going gaga over the plants in the yard. The October 4 tree post was followed by another one almost a week later, featuring the same tree except the red color was now dominant.
