Celebrity relationships are very chaotic, but that’s not because of their personal problems whatsoever. Just imagine all the hate from social media dictating you who to date and not to date, all the paparazzis popping out of nowhere when you’re really just trying to have a nice brunch with your beau—it’s all tiring. That’s why I can’t blame these couples who hid their relationships until they’re stable:
Cardi B and Offset
The two rappers may be the talk of the town this week, as Cardi B just tweeted yesterday that she got married to Offset last September. That was even before the famed proposal on stage with an eight-carat diamond ring. Surprise!
Guess she was sick of the nosey fucks, hence naming her album Invasion of Privacy.
This why i name my album “Invasion of privacy” cause people will do the most to be nosey about your life .Welp fuck it . pic.twitter.com/U3uHFOT3qK

It was an impulsive move, so to speak, waking up one day and just deciding to marry. But the couple looks happier than ever, even expecting a baby girl next month.
Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn
Taylor swift’s officially shaking it off by keeping her dating life quiet for more than a year. Now she’s dating English actor Joe Alwyn—and they managed to keep it under wraps for months before they revealed the romance. Reports say that they might have started dating around October 2016, but paps only got their first shot on June 2017 while they’re having brunch on a balcony. Looks like Taytay’s actually enjoying her cup of Joe.
Swift has always been known for dropping mind blowing hints in her songs and music videos, and if you haven’t watched it yet, Ready For It may have been written for Alwyn, with obvious references to the actor. 89 and 91—their birth years.
Some sources say they might have already been talking about marriage. Or not.
Beyonce and Jay Z
From silence to all out power couple, Beyonce-Jay Z tandem is one of those celebrities that started like a movie. It’s been a decade since Queen B and Jay Z got married, but their lovestory began when she was 18 years old and he was 30. Oprah’s responsible for all the secrecy—she advised Bey a long time ago to keep their private life to them, so much that even their marriage was hidden for years.
But look at them now touring as a collab with a fairly settled family. I say, goals.
Yael Yuzon and Karylle
Going local, Spongecola vocalist Yael Yuzon and singer-actress Karylle also kept their relationship off limelight for two years before they finally admitted it. The couple started dating in 2010, and four years later, they finally tied the knot on a rather intimate wedding with only friends and family invited.
Just this summer, everyone was aww-ing at their viral video as Yael Aladdins his way through Disneyland, singing to A Whole New World with Karylle. These two are the perfect fit, makes you just want to run off with a fellow musician.
Kean Cipriano and Chynna Ortaleza
Callalily’s vox Kean Cipriano and actress Chynna Ortaleza should probably win an award for one of the cutest love stories of all. Seriously. It all started when Kean was still in high school, and his stylist cousin, who was working at GMA at the time, was gonna surprise him with a celebrity date during his grad ball. Chynna didn’t make it, though, so she just gave him a picture of her with a dedication on the back. That was, what? 12 years before they even started dating?
“Nilagay ko lang sa wallet ko, okay na. Hindi ko naman alam na ‘yun pala ‘yung magiging asawa ko. Hanggang ngayon naglolokohan kami… Sinasabihan ko pa rin si Chynna na ang surreal sa ’kin na asawa ko siya.” Kean told ABS CBN news.
As for Chynna’s side—she was asked by her bestfriend: “Pano pag naging kayo ni Kean?”, also before they started dating. She just said she’d marry him even if the wed reception would take place in Jollibee.
The two publicized their relationship on October 2015 during Kean’s interview at Tonight with Boy Abunda, and had a civil wedding two months after. Who would have thought, right? Chynna just got off from a 9-year relationship then, knew all about his lady conquests, and yet it all seemed like… destiny. They just went with the flow because “it felt right”. I guess destiny works for other people, you guys.
They still keep their relationship private even during the course of their married life. You’ll rarely see pictures of their first baby Stellar on social media. But here’s a lovely fam pic:
We can now conclude that secrecy is a wise move for some celebs, especially if they’re certain that it’s gonna work for the best. They’re no different than us when we’re in love—they don’t owe us anything, fam.
