After a bunch of controversies and issues, ‘Ang Pangarap Kong Holdap’ finally gets the (online) screening it deserves!

‘Ang Pangarap Kong Holdap’s theatrical release was marred with issues and problems. It struggled to get cinema slots, with MTRCB citing that its title sends a negative connotation to the public.

How many times have we heard the saying, “Don’t judge the book by its cover”? Apparently MTRCB didn’t get the memo, and barred the film from nationwide cinema slots.

As a result, the movie had a disappointing theatrical run, despite its promising premise.

All’s Well That Ends Well

On a Facebook post by the studio behind the movie, Mavx Productions celebrated the film being Netflix’s Top 1 Most Viewed in The Philippines just a few days after it was released on the streaming platform.

This is a milestone years in the making for the people behind ‘Ang Pangarap Kong Holdap’. Despite the limitations imposed on their initial run, they managed to persevere and come through!

Moreover, this is a testament to the hard work and effort put into the film.

Netflix gave the film a chance that it sought before but failed to get, and it lived up, if not exceeded, to its expectations.

‘Ang Pangarap Kong Holdap’ is directed by Marius Talampas and stars Pepe Herrera, Paolo Contis, Jerald Napoles, and Jelson Bay.
