While waiting for the third Jurassic World film, Dominion, which comes out in 2021 and appears to be the wildest and most chaotic addition in the franchise yet, you can have your fill of dinosaurs on this new Netflix series.

Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous is a brand-new animated show set in the same world and timeline as the blockbuster hit Jurassic World. It follows a group of six teenagers trapped at a new adventure camp on Isla Nublar.

When the events of the film unfold and dinosaurs are unleashed across the island, each kid realizes their very survival rests on the shoulders of themselves and their fellow campers. Unable to reach the outside world, our six teens will go from strangers to friends to family as they band together to survive the dinosaurs and uncover hidden secrets so deep they threaten the world itself.

The show will feature 8 Episodes, each one averaging 22 mins in duration. DreamWorks Animation is the studio behind this project. Showrunners will be Scott Kreamer and Aaron Hammersley. It will be executive produced by Steven Spielberg along with Colin Trevorrow, Frank Marshall, Scott Kreamer, Aaron Hammersley, and Lane Lueras.

Although admittedly, this show seems less thrilling and serious in comparison with the films because the protagonists are young, innocent people (and you don’t simply put in scenes of children getting ripped into pieces by a bloodthirsty Trex), we have the legendary names Spielberg and Trevorrow working on this. So, Netflix, we are all eyes!

Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous arrives on Netflix on September 18th. Watch the official teaser here!
