With the future of the country still uncertain under the global pandemic crisis, concerns about people’s health, our collapsing economy, and the scarcity of resources continue to spike up.
To help everyone whose mental health has suffered from the stress and worries brought by our unpleasant COVID-19 situation, the University of the Philippines Diliman Psychosocial Services (UPD PsycServ) is offering free counseling or psychotherapy services. They can provide free telepsychotherapy sessions or consultations to the following:
- frontline workers (e.g. health care workers, service providers, etc.)
- COVID-19 patients, PUMs & PUIs
- relatives of frontliners, patients, and PUMs & PUIs, and
- anyone who is affected/disturbed by the COVID-19 pandemic
What’s more? They are only a message away! Just contact them at 09063743466 or 09167573157 with your name and concern. You can also visit the link http://bit.ly/PsycServPH and fill up the provided form with your details.
Composed of Psychosocial Support Specialists and volunteers, UPD PsycServ is a group that aims to provide mental health services to the university’s students, faculty and staff. Now these efforts extend to other Filipino citizens that may need them.
“Indeed physical distancing is hard but we can still enable people to connect for encouragement and comfort. Text man o tawag sa phone, maipapadama ang pagsama,” stated Dr. Violeta Bautista, PsycServ Director and Clinical Psychology Program Chair of the UP Diliman Department of Psychology.
If you or someone you know have been struggling to mentally cope with this crisis, this effort by the University of the Philippines would serve as a huge help.
