Paramore is not done surprising fans as they were featured in BBC Radio 1 with a cover of Drake’s “Passionfruit” track. Hayley Williams also sang “Hard Times” for the YouTube channel.

Hayley Williams Makes Drake’s Passionfruit Tastier

Personally, “Passionfruit” is not my kind of song. It’s a solid track from Drake but it is not on any of my top lists.

Hearing Paramore cover “Passionfruit” does make the song better. When I heard it from Drake the first time, I felt like it was a monotone track. It was not exactly colorful musically, but the lyrics does make up for it.

One interesting bit is Hayley also tried to sing parts of Drake’s “Hold On, We’re Going Home” towards the end of the song. Her voice made “Passionfruit” more dynamic in my opinion. I do not like the song per se, but I do like Paramore’s cover.

Paramore is making rounds to promote their new “After Laughter” album which features “Hard Times” and other tracks with an 80s vibe. We also wish that they will be holding a concert in Manila but that seems to have a small possibility.

Other Notable BBC Radio 1 Covers

BBC Radio 1 is full of artists covering other artist’s’ songs. My personal top favorite is Jared Leto’s cover of “Stay” by Rihanna. Yes, that’s the latest Joker singing something sad.

Hozier also covered Sam Smith’s “Lay Me Down” in an upbeat track. They made the song sound entirely different. They also covered Ariana Grande’s “Problem.”

Lukas Graham also covered Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself” which made it listenable for a whole lot of other people.

Arctic Monkeys also covered Drake’s “Hold On, We’re Going Home” which I also think is better than the original version. There are other covers as well and you can check them out at their YouTube channel.
