Warning: this new song is unlike anything we’ve heard from the country superstar.
While the wait for his new album release continues, you can have your fill of Keith Urban’s music with his latest song ‘Superman’. This adds to the few projects Urban has shared with his fans prior to the release of his 12th studio album, The Speed of Now Part 1, coming out on September 18.
Superman is unlike any other song we’ve heard from Keith before. To date, it’s the most infectious song he’s made, brimming with energy and swag without losing that trademark Urban soul. It’s a textbook summer song that can get you hyped up in the morning– something we could use during these mentally draining pandemic days.
Lately I’ve been living in a world that’s black and white
Ever since you left all the colors just drained out of my life
“I like when listeners can put their own story, their own faces and their own characters into the song, and this one to me, is definitely one of those songs,” Keith shares about the song.
While no one would expect a dance/electronic/pop track coming from the Australian singer-songwriter, Superman is another example of Keith Urban attempting to do more with his artistry and musical curiosity. Working with him in the creation of this immunity boost of an anthem is production and mixing trio Captain Cuts, Craig Wiseman, and Youtube flipbook phenomenon Andymation.
Meanwhile, now that we’re on the subject of Keith surprising us with his unpredictable versatility, here’s another treat from the guy that you certainly wouldn’t expect. Check out Keith Urban’s cover of Don’t Start Now by pop star Dua Lipa.
