I didn’t want to cry today but here we are.
Ben&Ben is known for their meaningful music and they once again prove this when the multi-awarded band released “Nakikinig Ka Ba Sa Akin”. (Read more about it here: ICYM, Ben&Ben releases new track ‘Nakikinig Ka Ba Sa Akin’ Written During Qurantine) Their latest single is timely in today’s difficult situation of misunderstanding and loss of hope. And this time, the nine-piece band solidifies the ache their track brings with a release of a wistful music video.
Uploaded on YouTube just four days ago, the video is now trending on the streaming platform and currently has over 300,000 views. So far Ben&Ben has one of the biggest releases this month in the OPM landscape with more than a million streams on Spotify alone.
Watch the music video here:
Starring Agot Isidro, Bart Guingona, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, and Kelvin Miranda. The four play a dysfunctional family that mirrors many in real life.
The cinematic video explores the complicated dynamics of a family that’s at war not only with each other but against their personal struggles as well. It realistically portrays a flawed household that forgets to find solace in each other — the very essence of what a family should be.
The storyline speaks to many who are currently in a situation where no one seems to listen. Behind every argument is the need to be heard. The family learns to listen to each other and eventually patches things up. The wonderful music video is helmed by director Jorel Lising who is also behind the band’s MV for “Pagtingin”.
