Kim Chiu gives us a reason once again why she’s a queen to stan by releasing a full version of the ‘Bawal Lumabas’ song– initially made to make fun of her.
Whatever your stand is on the ABS-CBN shutdown, you’ve seen a meme about Kim Chui’s confusing statement made during a ‘Laban Kapamilya’ stream. The video, posted on May 8, featured the network’s stars reacting to their home network having been denied their franchise renewal.
Kim’s statement was: “Sa classroom may batas, bawal lumabas, oh bawal lumabas. Pero ‘pag sinabi, ‘pag nag-comply ka na bawal na lumabas pero may ginawa ka sa pinagbabawal nila, inayos mo ‘yong law ng classroom niyo at sinumbit mo ulit ay pwede na pala ikaw lumabas..”
For days, the wild social media put the actress on the receiving end of bashing and trolling. The statement was turned into a meme, earning the title of, “Law of Classroom.” Even Kim herself admitted she laughed at her own mistake. However, she also admitted to feeling so down that she decided to get off social media for a while.
But then, a Facebook user named Adrian Crisanto posted an open letter addressed to the actress, expressing creative and plausible suggestions on how Kim could turn things around.
On a vlog posted on her official Youtube channel, Kim invited the letter sender on a zoom chat, expressing her gratitude for the man. Also included in the vlog was the full, studio-recorded version of ‘Bawal Lumabas’ complete with a music video.
“I was really down the past few days… But of course, pag may problema, hindi mo dapat tinatambayan, doon tayo dapat sa option na move forward,” Kim said. “Thank you so much, dahil sa inyo, naging trending yung pangalan ko. At least napasaya kayo.”
As of this writing, the vlog has garnered over 1.6 million views. While the bashers and trolls spend their abundant free time spreading hate on social media, there’s Kim capitalizing on the mess they’ve started.
