The Weeknd Like Selena

The Weeknd Just Registered A New Song ‘Like Selena’

November 28, 2019 Divine Sanchez

Today’s tea is piping hot, everyone! Apparently, The Weeknd has a new song up for slate and it’s titled, ‘Like Selena’. Does this mean what we think it means?

According to the American Society of Composers, Authors , and Publishers’ website, The Weeknd registered a song titled, ‘Like Selena.’

Even more, The Weeknd took it to Instagram on Tuesday to share a sneak peek of what it seems to be new music with the caption, “The fall starts tomorrow night.” And in case you didn’t know, he has been quiet from social media for quite some now yet he made comeback just for this post.

Well, this isn’t the first time Abel made a reference to Selena Gomez in some of his songs. The Weeknd’s 2018 album, ‘My Dear Melancholy’ was full of songs with Easter eggs of the singer like ‘Call Out My Name,’ ‘Starboy,’ ‘Privilege,’ ‘Hurt You,’ ‘I Was Never There,’ and ‘Wasted Times.’

The Weeknd & Selena

These two had their first go at their romance in January 2017, but after 10 months of dating, they decided to call it quits in October that same year. According to E! News, part of their breakup was due to their busy schedules.

“Selena and Abel both agreed that this relationship wasn’t going to work due to his busy schedule, but Selena was the one who wanted to end it,” the insider previously shared with us. “She didn’t feel secure while he was away, and the schedule conflicts got very exhausting for her.”

So Selena or not, the only thing we can do is wait. And hopefully, The Weeknd himself can confirm that the song will be about what the title suggests–which is Selena, duh.

What do you think of The Weeknd registering new music? And what do you think of its title, ‘Like Selena’? What kind of track do you think it would be?
