With the coming of the Metro Manila Film Festival, we are getting more excited for ‘Miracle in Cell No. 7‘.
In case you missed it, the official entries for the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival or MMFF have been recently released. One of them is the most-awaited Filipino remake of the Korean film, ‘Miracle in Cell No. 7‘. We already saw a sneak peek of the movie through a trailer released last week, but we still haven’t checked out the official soundtrack for it.
So listen to ‘Tag-Araw’ by Janine Teñoso with us and let’s go on a roller-coaster of emotions!
The perfect theme song for the film
Honestly even from our first listen, what amazed us with ‘Tag-Araw’ was really Janine Teñoso’s beautiful vocals. The way she sang just sounded so flowy and gentle, as if whispering happy thoughts to our ears. Just from her singing itself, we felt on the verge of crying. What more if we listened to the actual lyrics from the song?
Listening to the song, we really liked its melody and the way it was telling us a story. It made us feel happy, but sad at the same time. The message was hopeful, but there was also the uncertainty of time.
Just look at the following lyrics and see for yourself.
Hanggang kailan kaya ako maghihintay (How much longer should I wait)
Upang ang tag-araw sa akin ay kusa nang ibigay? (Until that day finally comes for me?)
To be frank, we felt like there was a bit of a dark undertone to the song since we have watched the original Korean film and we know how it ends. However, we can also look at it plainly as a hopeful longing for a reunion with a loved one instead. Also for the sake of avoiding spoilers.
Nonetheless, we really, really like the song and we think it’s just the perfect soundtrack for the upcoming film. Moreover, if you have listened to the song already and have your own thoughts about it, don’t hesitate to let us know!
