Thank the 8-bit heavens that Paramount listened to the critics! Because ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ gets a much-needed makeover in the new movie trailer!

Needless to say, Sonic the Hedgehog’s initial design from the first trailer was short of something from a horror movie. But we’re happy to say that with yesterday’s new trailer makeover for ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ it actually looks like a decent movie!

So ICYDK, ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ was Sega’s 1991 mascot platformer game. So for those of you asking why Sonic is blue, the short answer is because Sega’s logo is blue. And they wanted a mascot in the same color.

For comparison’s sake, we’ve linked below the first trailer, as well as the new one that was released on November 12.

So here’s the old trailer:

And here’s the new one:

Much better right?

We don’t know about you but their first attempt at “humanizing” Sonic was super creepy looking! But now that they’ve made him much closer to the original design, it actually makes us want to watch the movie!

But we think it’s important to note, that this new animated version of Sonic isn’t a perfect replica of the original. For one, his eyes are separate, while in the original they’re connected. And that his arms are blue instead of the original tan. But with everything in consideration, we’re actually really happy with the new trailer makeover for ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’.

‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ will hit theaters by February 2020. And with his new trailer makeover, it looks like ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ will get a chance to draw a bigger crowd. Because, at first, we really thought that it was Jim Carrey’s Dr. Robotnik who will save the film.

So how do you like the new trailer makeover for ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’? Isn’t it much better? But also, if you liked the original design, let us know why! We’d love to hear what you think! So share with us your thoughts in the comments down below! Or hit us up on our Facebook or Twitter @UDoUPh.
