So…Facebook unveiled a new logo and need we say more? The design really speaks for itself…

Yesterday, Facebook announced a new logo to help users distinguish the parent company of their apps Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and more. As a result, this new look features an all caps “Facebook” and a very bland looking font that could pass off being made in MS Word. Agree?!

Moreover, they showed a GIF file that transitions to different colors based on their respective apps–blue for Facebook, green for WhatsApp, and pinkish-red gradient for Instagram, and so on.

After 15 years since the Facebook site was launched, the social media giants then has become as a parent brand, and the company felt the need to introduce itself apart from the social network it was originally known for.

The new logo was said to have “custom typography” for clarity and a visual distinction from the Facebook company itself and the app.

“Today, we’re updating our company branding to be clearer that these products come from Facebook. We’re introducing a new corporate logo and further distinguishing the Facebook company from the Facebook app, which will keep its own branding.”

“Over the coming weeks, we will start using the new brand within our products and marketing materials, and will be updating the Facebook for Business website.

Obviously, people had a thing or two to say about this update and they’re funny as heck!

Even one Twitter user pointed out Facebook’s new logo as having the same font as the American comedy-drama series, ‘Succession’. And it couldn’t be any more accurate!
