With the success of PC titles turned into mobile games like PUBg and COD, there’s a newcomer who wants to have a go in his development and it’s none other than, Apex Legends!
Recently, we’ve seen the announcement that all Electronic Arts games, including Apex Legends, will soon be available on Steam. And now, EA CEO, Andrew Wilson, talked about plans to expand Apex Legends to new platforms, and that is on mobile!
EA’s CFO and COO Blake Jorgensen gave fans a tentative release date for the mobile version. Are you ready for 2021?! Because the company will be releasing the game on mobile in the 2021 fiscal year! The 2021 fiscal year begins on Oct. 1, 2020, so expect to see the game after some time this date.
However, it’s unclear whether the mobile version of Apex will support Android and Apple users or will be released as a separate mobile game.
In a quick period, Apex Legends went from a complete nobody to a household name for battle royale titles. And cleared another important milestone, hitting a fanbase of an astonishing mark of 70 million players.
Wilson said that Apex Legends has become a major long-term franchise for the company. And since then, the team behind Apex Legends has aimed to expand the franchise to give fans regular content and updates.
He said the company is committed to bringing the game to “mobile, new platforms and new geographies.” Furthermore, Wilson also teased that EA is launching an Apex competitive gaming program, however, we’ll have to wait for more details about this exciting news.
So until Apex Legends is released on mobile, you can enjoy it on Microsoft Windows, PS4, and Xbox One!
