Official esports team, Sibol, promised P1M for every gold medal in SEA Games

Smart partnered with the official PH esports team, Sibol, offering them cash incentives for every gold medal won in the upcoming SEA Games!

Titled as the “Get Gold!” campaign, Smart aims to encourage our esports team to try their best in bagging several gold medals for the country. According to Smart, for every team events such as Dota 2, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Arena of Valor, they will offer P2 million cash prize. While they will give P1 million each for individual events like Tekken 7, Hearthstone, StarCraft II.

In an interview, Alfredo S. Panlilio, President of Smart Communications, said that this an effort from their part to promote esports as a competitive sport.

“This is a huge milestone for esports, and it is our greatest honor to support the best Filipino gamers as they prove that we have the talent, skill, and drive to dominate this increasingly growing scene.”

Aside from providing them with cash incentives, Smart has also made it a point to help Sibol with their training. They opened the doors Smart Sibol Training Ground, serving as the team’s boot camp. And that’s not all, Smart has also provided the team with pocket tournaments and mock events to prepare them for SEA Games.

After the announcement that esports will finally be a part of the Southeast Asian Games in 2019 comes the formation of our representing team for the first time ever called Sibol!

They are compromised of rookies as well as seasoned players. Last August, the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Esports Union (PSEU) held an open qualifier event where anyone can join but only the best of best remained. And now their here to represent our country!
